The Complete 3-Day Itinerary
Driving time: approximately 5 hours 30 minutes
We leave Nairobi early in the morning and drive toward the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the few remaining places where wildlife continues to thrive across extensive natural landscapes.
The Mara forms the northern section of the vast Serengeti ecosystem and is famous for its seasonal wildlife movements. During the migration period, huge numbers of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains, followed closely by the predators that depend on them.
We arrive in time for lunch before heading out for our first afternoon game drive.
This first safari gives us the opportunity to begin exploring the reserve and searching for its diverse wildlife as the afternoon progresses.

These activities can be incorporated according to your interests and preferred pace.
Dinner and overnight: Campsite or lodge.
After breakfast, we set out for a full-day game drive with a packed lunch, allowing us to spend more time exploring the reserve.
The Maasai Mara is particularly famous for its black-maned lions and large populations of resident wildlife. It is also among the destinations where travelers have an excellent chance of seeing the Big Five, sometimes within a single morning of game viewing.
Cheetahs are another highlight of the Mara. Some individuals have become accustomed to safari vehicles and may seek shade beneath them during the hottest part of the day. On rare occasions, some may even climb onto vehicles to gain a better vantage point while watching potential prey.
The Mara also offers outstanding birdwatching opportunities, with almost 500 species recorded. These include numerous eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures, storks, bustards and sunbirds.
We return to our accommodation after a full day in the wilderness.

After breakfast, we begin our journey back to Nairobi.
We depart the Maasai Mara in the morning and travel by road toward the capital, with arrival expected at approximately 1:00 PM.
